Personal Direction
CURRENT DIRECTION
My long-term direction is to build toward a highly automated community or town.
WHAT I AM BUILDING TOWARD
The point is not just the engineering challenge. I want to create the kind of structure and community I wish had been available to me growing up.
I wish I had more freedom to spend my time learning, building, exploring interests, meeting interesting people, and figuring out what I actually cared about without the constant expectation that most of my life would eventually need to be organized around working some low-wage job just to survive.
I want to build an environment where people have much more freedom to chase their interests, passions, relationships, projects, and whatever direction gives their own life value.
Automation is a major part of that. I want machines and infrastructure to remove as much unnecessary repetitive labor as realistically possible, while a strong material floor gives people enough independence that survival is not constantly deciding what they are allowed to spend their time doing.
I also want the community itself to be somewhere I would actually want to live: interesting people, shared projects, things constantly happening, enough variation for people to build their own lives, and enough common structure for the whole thing to function.
If it works, I want it to become a proof of concept that can be copied, adapted, and improved elsewhere rather than remaining one isolated town.
DIRECTION RATHER THAN COMPLETION
I am perfectly happy with the possibility that I never fully achieve this.
The point for me is following a direction that gives me enough meaning, value, and a good enough state of being and lucidity that life feels worth living.
Moving directionally matters more to me than being guaranteed the final result.
I still want to take the goal seriously and push it as far as I realistically can. I just do not need reality to guarantee that I personally reach the endpoint.
If I die having built systems, capital, organizations, designs, or a community capable of continuing the direction without me, I would still consider that meaningful success.
TIME AUTONOMY
One of my biggest personal goals is control over my own time.
I value that directly. Being able to decide what occupies most of my waking life is part of the kind of life I actually want.
It is also one of the most important tools for everything else I want to build.
My ideal working environment is having long periods where learning, prototyping, designing, and building can become the main activity of my life instead of something I repeatedly fit around unrelated work.
Four uninterrupted hours where I can stay inside one problem are much more useful to me than four separate one-hour blocks spread around unrelated obligations. The bigger advantage is being able to keep the same mental context alive across the day and, ideally, continue it again the next day.
Financial independence matters heavily to me because it can create that freedom.
CAPITAL
I want enough money to maximize both my independence and my ability to build.
Personally, that means reaching a point where I have much more control over how I spend my time.
At larger scales, capital means being able to fund prototypes, equipment, property, infrastructure, businesses, people, and eventually projects that would be impossible for me to build alone.
I do not have a fixed wealth target because the useful amount changes with the scale of what I am trying to do.
ENGINEERING AND BUILDING
I want to become capable of understanding and building increasingly complex autonomous physical systems.
I do not currently know exactly how good I can become at that.
The important thing to me is developing the capability itself through whatever combination of work, self-study, prototyping, formal learning, collaboration, and experience actually works.
My robotics, embedded systems, automation projects, home systems, and other technical work increasingly connect to that same direction.
I do not need to build every machine or receive all the credit.
COMMUNITY
I want ProtoDivine and Divine Horizon to hopefully attract some of the people necessary to build this goal with me, along with people who just want to be part of the ride and make life entertaining.
I do not expect everyone involved to dedicate their life to the same project. I want people with their own interests, ambitions, relationships, projects, and reasons for being there.
Eventually I want that to become a real physical community where people actually know each other, build things together, spend time together, and create the kind of environment I wish had been available to me much earlier in life.
I want an active community where people can build, create, share life, and play games together. I want something I actually belong to, not just a Discord with names in it.
I’m refining ProtoDivine across platforms and want to post more of what I think, build, and create so people can find me and the community.
CURRENT COMPANY STRATEGY
The hardest goal right now is building a company. I need to market-test the plan and put it in front of people instead of only developing it privately. An engineering role is a useful secondary path for competence, experience, income, and access.
SUPPORTING DEVELOPMENT
Music, vocals, and drawing give me more ways to express myself and more control over what I make. Drawing can help me develop characters, design a logo, or show a prototype before it physically exists.
My physical presentation matters too. I want more control over how I look and how people first perceive me. Some changes are expensive, so progress depends partly on improving my income.
Understanding reality stays underneath all of this. I want a more accurate picture of the system I am operating inside.
THE PART OF MY LIFE THAT FEELS TIME-LIMITED
There are some things I want to experience before I become willing to sacrifice much more heavily for the larger project.
The biggest is experiencing a relationship dynamic that I associate specifically with youth. There is a kind of connection, way of spending time together, and stage of life that I think is realistically only available within a certain age window. I want the chance to experience that while the window still exists rather than deciding later that I traded it away for work.
The Alaska cruise I want to take is tied directly to that. It is basically my ideal date for that relationship: going somewhere genuinely memorable together and having the kind of experience I have pictured wanting while I am still in that part of my life.
Once that particular clock feels less relevant, I expect myself to become substantially more willing to buckle down and sacrifice time toward the larger goal.
That does not mean I plan to stop having relationships, traveling, making art or music, playing games, or enjoying myself afterward. Those things still matter because they are parts of life I value.
The distinction is that some experiences feel unusually time-sensitive to me right now, while the autonomous-town project can continue developing for the rest of my life.
The larger project gives my life a direction. It does not need to consume everything else that makes the life worth having.
POLITICAL INFLUENCE
Becoming President is one possible path to enough influence to push human integration further. The office is not the goal itself or a requirement; another realistic path could serve the same purpose.
LIMITS ON LARGER PROJECTS
Larger projects remain subject to the safeguards I set out in Morality.
